Bill Fix—Senior Pastor

Dr. William L. Fix, ThD. –  Pastor Bill has been the Senior Pastor of Journey of Hope Community Church for 19 years and has been a full time Pastor for over 34 years. Bill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry, a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate Degree in Theology. He enjoys leading the Pastoral Staff and is Chairperson of the Board of Directors. He has been married 45 years to his lovely wife Dottie and they have two married daughters and four wonderful Grandchildren. Pastor Bill serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Community Care Services and is a member of the Taylor Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force and several other community coalitions. He is a magician and ventriloquist, and loves to perform and lecture about these arts in churches, conferences and other community groups telling them about Jesus in a fun and exciting way. Pastor Bill has been an adjunct professor at Spring Arbor University and loves taking people to the next level in their spiritual walk with Jesus. He mentors, teaches and coaches people to make that a reality for them. 

  Dottie Fix— Pastoral Assistant, Event Coordinator,
All For Him Drama and Dance and Handfuls of Purpose Puppet Team Director

Dottie Fix.  is the Senior Pastor’s wife, mother of two married daughters and enjoys being MeMe to four grandchildren.  Dottie has been at Journey of Hope for  19 years serving as the Pastors Administrative Assistant. She is involved in many ministries at the church and works for Voran Funeral Home. She often represents the Pastor at community events and meetings. She is on the Leadership Team and enjoys helping her husband in ministry. Dottie loves to dance and enjoys Zumba and other exercise. She has been a puppeteer for over thirty years and helps direct Journey of Hope’s Handfuls of Purpose Puppet Team. She also enjoys being on the All For Him Drama and Dance Team. She takes care of the master calendar for the church and works full time as a volunteer beside her husband at church. 

Dave Anderson—Associate Pastor


Pastor Dave Anderson is the Associate Pastor at Journey of Hope Community Church and has been in full time ministry for 36 years. He is a graduate of Spring Arbor University where he received a Bachelor Of Arts Degree and received a Master of Theology Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. 

Dave oversees our Concert Schedule, is a Board member, and is on the Leadership Team, and Preaching Team. He also wears many other hats. He is married to Lois, his wonderful wife of 43 years. They have two wonderful children, David married to Allison and Jennifer? He praises the Lord for his children whom have given Lois and him 6 grandchildren. Pastor Dave loves his family and loves spending time with them. Dave likes to play golf, basketball, love to read and traveling to new places. He has given his life to the Lord for His service and loves to spend time with people and especially seeing people coming to Jesus and receiving Him as their Savior and Lord.


Worship Team, Dinner Church Pastor

Matt has been attending Journey of Hope Community Church since 2005 and he began leading worship later that year. In addition to leading worship here, he has led worship and been involved on worship teams at other churches for over 20 years. Matt is actively involved in the prayer ministry, leads the Going Deeper Leadership Development, and pastors the Dinner Church. 

Herb Rowsey— Momentum Youth (Student Ministries)

God’s Choice Church  (Special Needs)

Herb Rowsey came to Journey of Hope in the summer of 2014 with his beautiful wife Sarah. He had just graduated in May 2013 from Concordia University with a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies. God lead Herb to JOHCC.  Herb is in charge of the youth ministry and Pastors the special needs ministry, God’s Choice Church. It is an honor and a privilege for Herb to see God at work in the teen’s lives and the lives of those in God’s Choice. God is really moving in Herb’s life and ministry and he is excited about serving God at JOHCC in 2017.



Sarah Rowsey—Youth and God’s Choice


Sarah came to JOHCC with her husband when he took the role as Jr. and Sr. High Youth Pastor in June 2014. Sarah is multi-talented and volunteers in several other areas of ministry including the youth group, God’s Choice (special needs group), and the worship team. Sarah served as the Web Master last year and helped with some marketing pieces.
Sue Westphal­—Prayer Chain – Board


Sue Westphal accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior on August 17, 1992 and has been a member of JOHCC for approx. 20+ years.  Sue has one grown son who serves in the U.S. Air Force. Sue currently works full time as an Administrative Assistant for a Detroit law firm and have been there for 36 years. This is just an example of her faithfulness. She serves as Secretary of the Society and is one of the Directors of the Board. She is also the Facilitator of the Prayer Team and believes that prayer is an essential component of a healthy Christian life.
Marianne Fitzpatrick—2nd Year Delegate

Marianne Fitzpatrick assists Pastor Bill with Pastoral Care and serves in many volunteer capacities at Journey of Hope. She has been a part of JOHCC for five years and is a graduate of the Going Deeper 2 year Leadership Development Class where she grew closer to God so she could serve Him better. Marianne’s calling is to visit the sick and elderly, and to witness to people who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.She counts it an Honor and Blessing to serve God. She often sends get well cards, thinking of you cards, makes phone calls and visits people in the hospital, nursing home and residences. Whenever there is a need, Marianne is there to help. Marianne teaches kids through adults and serves a a Delegate and is a Director on the JOHCC Board of Directors.

Lynne Meharg-Williams—Women’s Ministry (Head Delegate)
Lynne has been attending JOHCC since 2006 when I recommitted my life to Christ. Lynne is married to George Williams and is currentlythe Head Delegate of Journey of Hope Community Church, is a Consecrated Deaconess and serves in many capacities at JOHCC. She is a Director on the JOHCC Board of Directors.  She is currently the leader of the JOHCC Women’s Ministry and loves serving the Lord as she continues her journey to grow closer to Christ each day.
Wendy Diebel—Missionary Liaison
Wendy Diebel has been attending JOHCC for about 19 years. She is currently the co-director of Handfuls of Purpose Puppet Team Director. Wendy also serves JOHCC as the missionary liaison, connecting our church members to the missionaries they are supporting. Wendy is married to Mike Diebel and enjoys the many friendships she has at JOHCC.
Hank Sower—Local Missions


Hank Sower was born in Detroit and has lived in Taylor since 1956. Hank is married to his lovely wife Patti and they have two married daughters, Leah and Rachel. Hank and Patti are also blessed with four super grandchildren. Hank began his ministry at JOHCC in 1998 and was the youth pastor for many years. Hank is currently the Pastor of the Senior Service at Maple Heights Senior Center, heads our Local Missions and Senior Ministry. Hanks favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Reserve Delegate


Holly is a stay at home mother of two and married to her husband Grant. Holly is one of the Directors on the JOHCC Borad of Directors, She is the leader of the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. Holly is also very involved with the children’s program at JOHCC. As a MOPS group we have two kinds of events, Events that are just for moms and also events for the entire family. The key to this ministry is to network with young moms during a time when they really have their hands full. These events include family cook outs, mom to mom sales (that helped raise money for a community baby shower) and we even had a spa weekend/vendor event. They plan on doing several activities in 2017.
Gail Smith— Children’s Ministry
Gail Smith is the mother of three grown boys and the lovely wife of Scott Smith, Sr.  Gail has been involved with Children’s Ministry for almost 30 years and is a graduate of the JOHCC Leadership Training Class, now called Going Deeper! It is obvious that Gail loves God with all of her heart; She loves her  family; and she loves people, especially children! Her love in spending time with children is because of their honesty, silliness and the way they love to have fun! One of her favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go and even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  Gail is also a “Life Coach.” She is constantly encouraging others to set Godly examples for the little ones to follow, because the Children are watching and imitating everything they see.
Scott Smith Sr.—Men’s Ministry
Scott Smith has been a member of Journey of Hope for about 19 years and is married to his wife, Gail, for 34 years. They have three grown boys.Scott says, “The best part of raising three boys to adulthood, is the blessings we have received as some of them have married and added members to our family making us grandparents.”  Scott has been through quite a few trials from being hit by a car in second grade to overcoming cancer just a few years ago. But, God has been faithful and healed Scott so that he may be in the mission field. Leading the Men’s Ministry is a great fit with Scott’s background and passion. Scott loves all sports (playing and coaching), fishing, and golf. Photography is Scott’s Hobby and he has served as photographer for weddings, showers, and many other events. The Men at JOHCC have relevant Bible study and great fellowship together with food and activities.
